Civilian Expoerience

Civilians have widely varied experiences in their lives. At each level, a Civilian may choose one of the following abilities. If an ability can be taken multiple times, the further effects will be listed in it's entry, but any specific ability cannot be taken more then once every 3 levels unless otherwise stated.

Weapons Familiarity: The first time this ability is taken, he becomes proficient with all simple weapons. The second time it is taken, the Civilian uses the Medium base attack bonus (as the Technician) instead of his own. The third time it is taken, the Civilian gains proficiency with a martial weapon of his choice. The forth time it is taken, the Civilian gains the Good base attack bonus (as the Marine) instead of his own. Every time taken beyond that, the Civilian gains proficiency with another martial weapon of his choice.

Enhanced Fortitude: The first time this ability is taken, the Civilian gains the Medium progression for his Fortitude saves instead of his own. If taken a second time, he may use the Good progression.

Enhanced Reflexes: The first time this ability is taken, the Civilian gains the Medium progression for his Reflex saves instead of his own. If taken a second time, he may use the Good progression.

Enhanced Will: The first time this ability is taken, the Civilian gains the Medium progression for his Will saves instead of his own. If taken a second time, he may use the Good progression.

Hardened Body: When this ability is taken, the Civilian increases the size of his class hit dice to the next size up, to a maximum of d12 hit points per level. This ability is not retroactive.

Expanded Education: When this ability is taken, the Civilian increases the base number of skill points he gains each level by 2, to a maximum of 8+int per level. This increase is not retroactive.

Professional Training: When the Civilian chooses this ability, he may select any 3 skills of his choice to count as class skills for him. This may be taken multiple times.

Advanced Training: When this ability is chosen, the Civilian gains Skill Focus in a single skill of his choice as a bonus feat. This may be taken multiple times.

First Aid: When this ability is taken, the Civilian gains Field Dressings as a bonus feat. If he already has the Field Dressings feat, he gains a 1d6 bonus to the number of temporary hit points granted when he uses it. Each time thereafter that this ability is taken, he increases his Field Dressings ability by an additional 1d6.

Endurance: When this ability is taken, the civilian gains Endurance as a bonus feat.

Track: When this ability is taken, the civilian may add half his class levels to his survival checks to follow or identify tracks.

Broadened Background: When this ability is taken, the Civilian gains an additional character trait.

Language Training: When this ability is taken, the Civilian learns two additional languages.
